Halloween Twizzlers

Can anyone explain to me what is going on with the mini individually wrapped twizzlers sold around Halloween? I am obsessed with them, and I am sure they are a completely different candy than the regular ones. The taste and texture are NOT the same. @Jessie can confirm that when Halloween rolls around I am buying multiple bags of assorted candy to get my little hands on as many of these as I can.
