There was a discourse on Twitter a few months ago where people were talking about how quickly they could read 200 pages, which to me felt very 4th-grader-angling-for-a-pizza-party. I have never been a particularly fast reader, and disability has slowed me down more, and I am okay with that. I love reading, and I love to be completely sucked into a book, but some books move more slowly, and that’s okay too. I am generally like, if we want more people reading (including ourselves), being judgmental about the way they do it seems so counter-productive? Let people read slowly! Let people read for fun! Let people mess around with genre! Don’t let the robots win! Okay, I think I got that out of my system.
