Leviathan Wakes (James S A Corey)

In terms of fun, more commercial sci-fi this series is pretty unmatched for me. Solid writing, thoughtful world, genuinely quite scary at times. And just so fun. Your mileage may vary on Captain James Holden, but personally I love the guy. I read these books in a troublingly short time and kind of convinced myself I wanted to go to space, even though I am claustrophobic, prone to motion sickness, and afraid of food in goo form. The show is really great too.
