Stumbled upon this word in an academic article about Dracula (why not) (fyi it’s about “reverse colonization” fears in Dracula, by Stephen D. Arata, v interesting), but anyway, I gasped when I saw it. At this stage in my life a new word is so delicious to me. Imbricate!!! That’s so sexy!!! It’s kind of what it sounds like, but Arata uses it figuratively. Ie he says Stoker “imbricate[s] Gothic fantasy and contemporary politics” in Dracula. Fun! Idk is this insufferable?
